First in America Russian
Comedy Show E-mail kanotye@odessaglobe.com The View calls Kanotye -
"Non-stop laughter!" The New Russian Word says,
"Kanotye is a breath of fresh air to the stuffy culture life
of the Russian community." "We would like to laugh at
our own problems in our native language... Kanotye, the first
American-Russian comedy show, accomplishes this."
To-date, produced and performed 11 shows (one a season). Opening night performances of Kanotye are usually played in the concert hall of the restaurant National (465 seats). Performances were sold-out several weeks in advance. Toured: Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Toronto, Hartford.
Over twenty-one thousand people have attended Kanotye since 1995. All performances were aired by Russian TV stations: RTN, cable in tri-state area; WMNB; and air TV in the USA and Canada. Some performances were aired by Russian radio stations in America. Kanotye's troupe is currently producing its own TV-comedy series called "Just An Anecdote" on Russian TV stations RTN and WMNB.
